It's been 4 months now since the most incredible day on a little farm in Virginia. The best part of it all was that I got to marry my best friend. But let's not forget the second best part, which was getting to wear the most beautiful outfit of my life. I couldn't help but share!
THE RINGS
In the year leading up to our engagement, I knew I wanted my good friend and collaborator, Matt Jackson, to make my engagement ring. The center diamond is just over a carat with a mine cut. It was given to us by Brad’s step mom, Nancy, and has been in her family for over 100 years. The rings I made for us have similar but inverse designs. I wanted a ring that had a little movement, so I used 3 wires of varying thickness wrapped at different heights. Brad’s band has the impression of those same three, loosely braided wires imprinted in it.
THE JEWELRY
When I left Detroit for Charlottesville the week of my wedding, I made sure to take some favorite pieces from my studio. Everything was gold and mostly from the Concentric Collection. On the day of my wedding, we laid out all of my jewelry to choose the final pieces. I envisioned doing some kind of pin or flowers in my hair, and Claiborne, of my favorite salon The Honeycomb, picked up the Concentric Statement Necklace and pinned it directly into my hair. I love how it turned out. The earrings I wore were a collaboration I did years ago with Mi Ossa.
BRACELET - Concentric Chain
Even some of the guests, including the bridesmaids, were seen in their own EBJ pieces!
