Sapphires - A Beautiful Stone with a Traceable History

The beautiful sapphire is one of nature's most captivating gemstones. Sapphires are renowned for their stunning hues and remarkable durability. Whether it's the vibrant blue of a Montana sapphire or the ethereal beauty of a colored sapphire, each stone is carefully selected for its exceptional quality and history.

Our sapphire partnerships are a unique way for our team to provide you with the rare opportunity to get up close and personal with a variety of sapphires in a spectrum of colors, shapes, and origins. If you're considering incorporating these exquisite stones into your custom project, or you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind in-stock design, you're in the right place.

Montana Sapphires

These stones are fully traceable from start to finish. We work with a husband and wife team who own and operate their mine. As they mine they carefully reclaim the land after extracting the sapphires. Topsoil is stripped off, they fill in the hole, spread the topsoil back in place and plant grass seed to return the area to its original natural beauty.

Sapphires

Established in 2012 by Justin Opert, Sorbet Sapphire collaborates with a select group of companies in Australia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and the United States, all of whom ethically source their sapphires. Sorbet Sapphire provides a large selection of both untreated and heated sapphires, showcasing an array of colors sourced from all over the world. All international suppliers partnering with Sorbet Sapphire are proud members of the Responsible Jewelry Council (RJC). Sorbet Sapphire was created with the purpose of sharing the beauty and wide-ranging diversity of colored sapphires to the world. Their vision is to inspire artisans and businesses to craft stunning jewelry that represents the essence of love, elegance and style.

Diamonds - Transparency and Quality at the Forefront

The diamond is said to represent clarity and strength. It was once thought to be an antidote to poison and ward against plague. Diamonds were also believed to be a vessel for longevity, strength, beauty, and happiness. These qualities are what make diamonds a popular choice for marriage proposals.

When it comes to diamonds, transparency is paramount. We understand the importance of knowing the origin of each stone, which is why we work exclusively with suppliers whose diamonds are conflict-free and responsibly sourced. From sparkling lab diamonds to salt and pepper diamonds full of personality, our stones are of unparalleled quality, sourced with integrity and care.

Lab Diamonds

We source lab diamonds that are made right here in the USA. They are sustainably grown above ground. All of the lab diamonds we use are certified and purchased from a vendor who follows internationally recognized environmental standards. As you can probably imagine, lab diamonds avoid the vast human & environmental toll that mining natural diamonds creates. Each lab created diamond is seeded by a thin slice of diamond that holds the atomic blue print. Carbon is then added to plasma at 10,000 degrees. Atom by atom, the diamond lattice forms. The process by which diamonds are formed in nature is recreated in a laboratory. Each diamond is totally unique, they are real diamonds with the same chemical composition as those found in the ground (essentially 100% carbon).

Natural/Recycled Diamonds

Mined straight from the earth’s crust and made entirely of carbon, natural diamonds have a wide range of color and clarity. Recycled diamonds are a type of natural diamond. As the name suggests, recycled diamonds are reused natural diamonds, often coming from heirloom jewelry. We source recycled diamonds as a holistic way to use natural diamonds in our jewelry. You can see recycled diamonds in our alternative engagement rings and wedding bands. Some natural diamonds are perfectly clear and white, while others are full of texture and color.

Salt & Pepper Diamonds

When mining for clear white diamonds there is only a small percentage of the diamond that they will be able to use. The remaining diamonds are black and gray with “inclusions” - usually bits of trapped carbon present in the diamond. We think these “salt and pepper” diamonds are perfect for alternative designs due to their unique beauty. Historically, these colorful diamonds would have been cast off or used for industrial purposes. By choosing a salt and pepper diamond, you’re allowing full use of the stone and reducing waste. Plus, the trapped carbon makes for really amazing color swirls in the stone that make them look like their own special galaxies!
